FAQs

  1. When can I apply?
    The application is available starting January 1. All applications and supporting documents should be completed and submitted by March 1.
     
  2. When will I know if I was accepted?
    The WGA Caddie Academy Committee will notify all applicants of a decision by April 15.
     
  3. What are the eligibility requirements?
    All applicants must currently be in their freshman year of high school and exhibit character and leadership, academic success, financial need and the inability to caddie based on geographic location.
     
  4. How long is the program?
    The program runs for seven weeks from mid-June through early August.
     
  5. How much does it cost?
    The program is free for all participants.
     
  6. Where do I live for the 7 weeks?
    The Caddie Academy girls are housed at the boarding school Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest, Illinois, and the boys are housed in the Northwestern University Evans Scholarship House in Evanston, Illinois.
     
  7. How many days a week do I caddie?
    Participants are expected to caddie six days a week, including weekends. Most clubs are closed on Mondays. There will be some Monday outings that the participants will caddie in as well.
     
  8. Do Caddie Academy participants make money?
    Yes. The amount of money each participant makes varies, but you keep all your earnings from the summer.
     
  9. What do I need to bring?
    All invited participants will receive a suggested packing list prior to the start of the program.
     
  10. What is the Evans Scholarship?
    The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing college scholarship for high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. Caddie Academy participants who complete three summers in the program are eligible to apply for the Evans Scholarship.
